“As if forever alone on desert island…”
This has been my mantra for well over half a century, I owe that to a great drawing teacher who helped me connect with my deepest intrinsic motivation.
It's helped me through tough times and has given me access to “stuff” which, to this day, so many years after it all started, continues to make my life worth living.
And amongst the many musics I listen to with my eyes, Erik Satie’s is one of the ones which comes closest to that initial feeling.

This sketch is a screen capture of practice runs for a live performance of improvised music-images. As usual, I practice with various music, and this beautiful rendition of Satie's music by Pascal Rogé http://www.pascalroge.com/ was a joy to work with.
There's is absolutely no attempt to produce techno fireworks, nor a “product” (“movie”), this is akin to sketching by oneself at a window, on a quiet and sunny early morning. No one else is around, there is nobody to "impress,” indeed, it is simply working/living "as if forever alone on a desert island…”

Yet, "alone together…"

A visitor to my Vimeo pages kindly informed me that this sketch was not working properly, it chocked at its beginning before finally working as it should.
So I checked it out and indeed, things were not working properly (yet they were when that piece was uploaded 8 years ago).
I replaced it with a fresh copy and all is well now.
However, I watched the piece today (had not done so in a long while) and was struck by how much this music fits the mood of the time (my mood at least), so I decided to share it again.
