The Visual Music Village

for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues

I've seldom had a feeling of "dance" as intense as I experienced during the making of this sketch.
Again, as in so many of the pieces that interest me, there's a strange tension between an inherent sadness (Tcheka's voice is exceptional in this respect) and a joyful, driving pulse that exist simultaneously.

Many people know the music of Cap Vert through Cesária Évora, I suspect fewer people know Tcheka's work.
"Storia estrada" (Strange Story) is also available, in a studio version, on his "Dor de Mar" CD.
This version was recorded during a beautiful concert in Nijmegen (Netherlands), on May 25, 2012.

It's very gratifying for me to see "my" images appear while I no longer concentrate on "figure/ground differentiation."
I was already working that way long ago when still using natural media (no longer possible due to severe allergies), but it took some doing before computers would allow me to work "globally" and by way of "accidents."
I can now "throw" sequences at each other (mostly in Final Cut Pro) the way I used to throw paint at my canvases.
Very enjoyable.
