for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues
Phrygian Gates from Jean Detheux on Vimeo.
John Adams is one of my all-time favourite composers (he’s in very good company, and rightly so).
This video, done in 2009, is a screen-capture of a practice, rehearsing for concerts (generating and mixing images in real-time), preparing for concerts with the formidable Belgian pianist (and composer) Jean-Phiippe Collard-Neven.
We’ve done this piece in live concerts in Montréal and Mons (Belgium),
Moe info about that here: vudici.net/movies/Transe_Demo/Transe_languages.html
I thoroughly enjoy those exceptional moments when music and images come together in such as way as to create something that neither can come close to on their own and this is especially true when those events happen in circumstances as open-ended as live performances.
More examples of that here: vimeo.com/album/3659581

Please consider supporting my work (VERY MUCH in need of support these days). You can make donations via PayPal, starting from here : vudici.net/movies/morphing.html#new123108 (this type of work receives very little help, if any, from the usual channels).
Thank you
