The Visual Music Village

for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues

Interview in the form of a monologue done at the "New Music & Art Festival" (now “New Music Festival") held at Bowling Green State University in 2007 (Bowling Green, Ohio https://www.bgsu.edu/musical-arts/maccm/new-music-festival.html).
I was a guest of the festival (very fond memories) and placed in a recording studio with a mic, asked to ramble on for 5 minutes.
What I said then still rings true to me today, if not even more so.

Beware of the plumbers and the plumbing schools…

This festival was a loaded event for me: I met Mikel Kuehn then (he was the festival director and is the one who invited me), we since have done some serious work together (https://vimeo.com/showcase/2985542) and Mike introduced me to his friend (and now mine as well) Pierre Jalbert, suggesting Pierre and I start working together (did we ever: https://vimeo.com/showcase/2985369).
It is on the same journey that I gave a lecture at the Rochester Institute of Technology, invited by my old friend Stephanie Maxwell (who also came to BGSU, we did a presentation together with her husband Allan Schindler ).
I also met composer Michaela Eremiasova which gave birth to a new collaboration (https://vimeo.com/showcase/2985615).
Anyango Yarbo-Davenport and I also connected on that trip, triggering a collaboration that is stil ongoing (in fact, my latest film is “Louisiana Blues”, with Anyango: https://vimeo.com/showcase/2985621).
I wish I still had the energy to make those long trips, but I am grateful to “fate” for having made them possible.

Please consider supporting my work (VERY MUCH in need of support these days). You can make donations via PayPal, starting from here : http://www.vudici.net/movies/morphing.html#new123108 (this type of work receives very little help, if any, from the usual channels).
Thank you
