The Visual Music Village

for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues

Another film in collaboration with Paola Erdas (http://www.vimeo.com/tag:paolaerdas).
This is a lullaby sung by Mary to her son, Jesus.
While putting her baby to sleep, she is assailed by visions of what's to come.
The music was composed by Tarquinio Merula (1594 – 1665) and vividly makes manifest the extreme tension between the love, and the horror.
There's a modicum of peace surfacing during the last stanzas, but I can't help still feeling (and making visible) what lurks ahead.
This music (and more) is available on Paola Erdas' site http://www.paolaerdas.it/ (in the "Programs > Janas Ensemble:" http://www.paolaerdas.it/e_pro_janas.html)
The images in this film, though exclusively computer generated, brought me back to my natural media days (http://www.vudici.net/awn/awn_natural_media_th.html) and more specifically, to this series of drawings http://www.vudici.net/awn/images_intro.html
However, I am becoming increasingly aware of working "on" or "with" (my perception of) the flow of time much more than "on" or "with" images...
