Les Folies d’Espagne (extrait/excerpt)

Ma collaboration avec Paola Erdas (http://www.paolaerdas.it/) a débuté il y a 10 ans (2008) avec la magnifique version de l’Ensemble Quadro Janas des "Variations sur la follia" d’Arcangelo Corelli (https://vimeo.com/9578954).
Les musiciens de cet ensemble sont Paola Erdas (clavecin), Lorenzo Cavasanti et Dorothee Oberlinger (flûtes à bec) et Jorge Alberto Guerrero (violoncelle baroque).
Avec Paola, nous avons bien travaillé depuis, voici un album qui contient une bonne partie de ce travail: https://vimeo.com/album/2985377
Alors que j'essayais de retrouver un fichier (pas toujours facile de trouver quelque chose que nous savons être présent, mais dont on a oublié le nom), je suis tombé “par hasard” sur un vrai joyau, un superbe enregistrement réalisé par le Trio Janas d'une musique de Marin Marais, “Les Folies d’Espagne”.
Le Trio Janas est composé de Lorenzo Cavasanti (flûte à bec), Paola Erdas (clavecin) et Jorge Alberto Guerrero (violoncelle baroque).
Comme je suis en train de développer des procédés qui me permettent de travailler en temps réel pendant des concerts images - musique, ça a été un vrai bonheur de travailler ainsi avec cet enregistrement comme “motif”.
Je me suis permis de citer quelques passages visuels de notre premier film, lui-aussi basé sur les folies d’Espagne, quelle belle “coincidence" de retrouver ainsi 10 plus tard un thème qui m’a apporté beaucoup de joie.
J’en souhaite autant aux visiteurs éventuels.

While searching for something else on my many hard drives (isn’t it fun to know you do have what you are looking for, but can’t remember its name?), I found this jewel of a recording, the Janas Trio version of Marin Marais’ “Les Folies d’Espagne”.
Janas Trio is composed of Paola Erdas (harpsichord), Lorenzo Cavasanti (recorder) and Jorge Alberto Guerrero (cello).
I must have had it for years, I do not understand what took me so long to listen to it with my eyes.
As I am currently focusing on developing processes to work in real-time (in preparation for images - music concerts), I found this music, as performed by the Janas Trio, extremely compatible with that exploration.
Pure joy, from beginning to end! (I hope some of that “rubs off” on the viewers).
