Fugue (excerpt) from Jean Detheux on Vimeo.
A little over 10 years ago, I was starting to sketch a possible sequel to my 2 NFB films (“Liaisons” https://www.nfb.ca/film/liaisons_fr and “Rupture” http://www.vudici.net/movies/ONF-NFB/Rupture/Rupture_excerpt.html).
This is one of those sketches.
The project was eventually abandoned, but the work continued, furiously.
I’ve since given up on the “figure/ground differentiation” so prominent in animation (and in illustration as well as in some approaches to painting). I had already seen through that as a painter.
It took a little time before my “time art” could exist comfortably in what had already been my mainstay in painting for a long long time, I am really enjoying what is happening today in “my” work.
This is a "salvaged-from-the-web" low res video, all the high res originals went with the death of a hard drive (too many of those).
Please consider supporting my work (VERY MUCH in need of support these days). You can make donations via PayPal, starting from here : http://www.vudici.net/movies/morphing.html#new123108 (this type of work receives very little help, if any, from the usual channels).
Thank you
