The Visual Music Village

for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues

The "Beautiful" section of Towards One is my favorite section. The music and images were composed together and sought a tight relation based on early harmony laws of music. This section only uses the octave, fourth and fifth intervals in the music and the geometric symbol of these harmonious intervals in the visual form recreated - the geometric Tetraktys. The source video material is from organ pipes from the cathedral in Carlow. The pipes represented harmony as realised in the organ pipes. All very symbolic. Beauty was considered to be represented in numbers and geometric ratios.
