Visual Music at BGSU

“...lilac shrieks and scarlet bellowings…” will be presented (in HD and 5.1 audio) during the “Faculty Artist Series: Faculty Composers” of BGSU’s College of Musical Arts.

This piece came to be by my giving Mikel Kuehn a silent movie (created with a temporary temporal structure, a collage of various film music by Goran Bregoviċ, that movie is available here).

Mike’s composition is fascinating, even though he never heard,  before finishing his composition, the music I used to create the images he had to work with/from/to, he managed to create music that not only “respected" my original intention (still elusive to me, and definitely hidden to him), it went beyond it.

This piece, created in 2010, has had a remarkable "career” in music festivals and it seems that it is not over yet.
