Voici l’occasion d’enrichir votre propre boîte à outils visuels par l’utilisation d’instruments analogiques dans un monde numérique. Le cinéaste et animateur émérite Steven Woloshen parlera de stratégies neuves et radicales tirées de son ouvrage récent sur le cinéma entièrement fait à la main, Recipes for Reconstruction, et son livre à venir, Scratch, Crackle and Pop: The Whole Grains Approach to Making Films Without a Camera. Cette leçon de cinéma explorera les techniques traditionnelles d’animation sans caméra dans un contexte HD, en incluant la gravure, la peinture et le collage directement sur la pellicule, de même que l’utilisation non conventionnelle d’archives trouvées (found footage), de photogrammes et de boucles.

Veteran filmmaker and animator Steven Woloshen will discuss new and radical strategies from his recent book on handmade filmmaking titled, Recipes for Reconstruction and his forthcoming book, Scratch, Crackle and Pop: The Whole Grains Approach to Making Films Without a Camera. This master class will explore traditional techniques of camera-less filmmaking in the High Def world, including scratching, painting and collage directly on film stock, as well as unconventional uses of found footage, photograms and loops.
