Taïga Maya Concert Intro from Jean Detheux on Vimeo.
"Taïga Maya" is an immense "Music Fiction" saga conceived by my friend Thierry Van Roy: http://www.taigamaya.com/.
Thierry and I had already done several pieces together when, a few years ago, he got me involved with this crazy project (it's with Thierry that I started my now "regular" process of giving silent clips to a composer, then taking that composer's music made for those images and create new images for it, etc...).
I became increasingly involved with "Taïga Maya" to the point of not only creating an animation for the DVD, but also designing/authoring the DVD itself (most complex task I ever undertook), creating all the illustrations for the Box-Set (DVD/CD/Book), and also, this piece, meant as an introduction to the live concert that followed the release of the Box-Set (concert for which I also designed the poster, see a selection of those images here: http://tinyurl.com/l4mupoa).
