for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues
Khatia Buniatishvili is a fabulous pianist! Witness her phenomenal interpretation, in concert, of the "Precipitato" (third movement) of Prokofiev's piano sonata nº 7 ("Stalingrad").
I approached this sketch in a "global" way, not trying to dissect the music into parts and all, but, as I so often do, trying to enter (and remain in) a very "naïve" listening mode, relying on "accidents" to provide the articulation of the images, in dialog with the music.
I am at my happiest when I see images and music play nice together with very little intervention (of the conceptual kind) on my part.
This experience is, in the "time-art" dimension, very similar to what I was experiencing with natural media, when "working from the visible," during those precious moments when the image seemed to be making itself, in front of my eyes (as in http://www.vudici.net/awn/awn_natural_media_th.html).
