The Visual Music Village

for Visual Music Artists, Writers, and Venues

When I start a new piece, I seldom know where it will take me.
And when I do, I most often go elsewhere.
For “Balkan Bach”, I had made ready a large collection of “putty” (various image sequences to be composited and modulated in Final Cut Pro, GLMixer and Studio Artist), all so very colourful.
Imagine my (pleasant) surprise when the work started to resonate only when taking place in black and white, taking me back to those glorious years when my health still allowed me to work with natural media, “swimming” in charcoal and graphite dust, drawing having always been my first love (https://tinyurl.com/u5wrqyt).
Very grateful to Joanna Goodale for having made this journey possible.

Joanna kindly let me “borrow” her music so that I could listen to it with my eyes.
The sensation experienced during the first hearing of this music which prompted me to contact Joanna remained alive throughout the hundreds of hours needed to find the images that make the movie.
A beautiful journey.
