Piano-Phase (Steve Reich, 1967) Visualization

This is the visualization of the most known passage of "Piano Phase", iconic piece of repetitive music made by Steve reich in 1967.

Steve reich used loops of the same piano phrase played simultaneously by 2 tape players. After a short while, because the speed is not exactly the same on both players, they start to go out of synch, little by little. This phasing "accident" gave birth to amazing auditory illusions, as our brain keeps anticipating the next loops, but because they're not always the same as the 2 phrases go out of synch, an amazing phenomenon happens and unexpected sounds occur, some of them being a product of your brain!

Here, by visualizing each of the notes, we wanted to see how a "visual" phasing works, and are pretty keen of the result.
