"It Was an Occident"

Created in my spring 2009 Pratt "Experimental Animation" class, this group project was a hand-made, direct on film, cameraless animation. Clear leader, black leader, found footage, sound footage, B&W and color, print and negative were used in this abstract sound/film collage. In addition to the various visual abstractions, some unusual sound design. Along with sound samples taken off the optical tracks of some of the found footage used in the film, we also incorporating hand drawn sound created by making marks along the sound area of the 16mm clear leader. The sound design was by student Ben Andrew. The edit was by student David Adeogun. The main title animation was by student Amanda Elsbree.
