Mini blue/green screen stage setup

I would like to build a properly lit, 2 feet cubic stage setup for stop motion animation in less than 50$, including mini lighting equipment costs.

Any advice about the following would be highly appreciated:
* cheap ingredients
* proper lighting for best chroma key results
* character creation materials and howtos
