Event Description

The International Festival of Cinema and Technology Los Angeles

The International Fest of Cinema and Technology (IFCT) announces a film festival event taking place at the downtown independent theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday, February 7th and 8th. This festival will be screening films from filmmakers around the world. The Int'l Fest of Cinema and Technology, (www.ifct.org) now in its 6th year, specializes in screening new animation and experimental film. The festival line-up also includes an array of exceptional narrative and documentary features and shorts. The downtown independent is a new film and event center located at 251 S. Main Street in downtown Los Angeles.

The Int'l Fest of Cinema and Technology is designed to give exposure to independent films many of which previously had been underexposed to the public. The festival's motto is it seeks to "discover the undiscovered film." The "technology" in the festival's name occurs both in the content of the festival, which tends to focus on themes of technology or feature unique creation techniques, as well as in the method of showcasing content at the events. Many participating filmmakers from around the world will be in attendance over the weekend to represent their films and discuss their work.

Thanks, Lynn! I think I am on your coast, actually - I live just north of NYC. I have an audiovisual performance coming up in the City in March I'll post here and let you know about as soon as I get the details.
