Event Description

In this one-time event, artist Eric Waldemar will screen rare 16mm films by two of the 20th century’s greatest film artists, Stan Brakhage and Harry Smith (Waldemar's early filmic mentors). Using a variety of film and video clips, (including bits of his own work) he’ll also sketch the history of fine art animation, focusing on handmade “visual music” and the attempts at color organs and light composition that preceded film. He’ll also give a sense of what to expect from his upcoming 8-week Fine Art Animation course at the Art Students League of Denver. $7 nonmembers, $5 members
