>> 2013 Live Cinema Call for Entries
This entry call organized by the Reykjavík Center for Visual Music is open to LIVE SET proposals, that is, Music and Imagery produced or mixed in realtime.
Under the motto Back to Basics, we invite visualists and musicians to focus on the expressivity of all the constituent elements of audiovisual art in its purest state: abstract form, color, motion & sound.
The selected candidates will be granted travel and accommodation expenses for the Reykjavík Visual Music - Punto y Raya Festival, where they will execute their piece LIVE at the Official Competition. The festival will take place from January 30th to February 2nd 2014 at HARPA.
>> GENERAL RULES
: The musicians and visualists must devise a DEMO VIDEO of the LIVE SET with a minimum running time of 7 minutes, so that the committee can appreciate the various "movements" or evolution of the piece.
: The visuals must be made entirely with abstract imagery, avoiding representation.
: The soundtrack cannot feature any words. If you're using songs, these must be completely instrumental or feature non·narrative voices [that is, no lyrics!].
: The sets must be between 30 and 35 minutes long.
: The DEMOS must be entered in the following formats: .MOV | .AVI | .MP4 | .MPEG
: The rider and other technical specifications for the set must compy with the infrastructure and layouts available at the Silfurberg Room. Please, bear with us, as we are still studying the best possibilities, we will include this information as soon as possible.
