 . Woloshen is a Montreal-based film animator and a pioneer of drawn-on
 -film animation who has been making films since the late ‘70’s. Wo
 rking in camera-less motion graphics since 1982, Woloshen uses scratch
 es, paint on film, and repurposed found footage to create emotional co
 ntent. Since 1999 he has worked exclusively in 35mm CinemaScope, an ex
 pensive format rare in the independent film world, which Woloshen maxi
 mizes by his otherwise thrifty means of production. His works have scr
 eened at festivals worldwide including the Montreal World Film Festiva
 l, Tampere International Short Film Festival, Annecy Animated Film Fes
 tival, Ottawa International Animation Festival, and I Castelli Animati
  in Rome.  Woloshen also recently published a wonderful how-to book e
 xplaining in detail all his tricks, entitled “Recipes for Reconstruc
