Stylistically, it sounds very much like a Blues-Jazz, but is composed with a 12-tone methodology with its interval logic having been reconfigured holistically from the original intervals within the piece making it a part of my series of 3rd stream compositions. All of these Kaleidoscopic pieces can be thought of also as variations on the original composition. This work composed in 1998 focuses on integrating Classical &amp; Jazz traditions, in particular early Blues. After a short while, because the speed is not exactly the same on both players, they start to go out of synch, little by little. This phasing "accident" gave birth to amazing auditory illusions, as our brain keeps anticipating the next loops, but because they're not always the same as the 2 phrases go out of synch, an amazing phenomenon happens and unexpected sounds occur, some of them being a product of your brain!<br /> <br /> Here, by visualizing each of the notes, we wanted to see how a "visual" phasing works, and are pretty keen of the result.
