The students created the artwork from a 16mm film print loaded in the school's Oxberry animation stand camera, which I set up as a single frame projection system. The film we used was a music video originally created through my father's company "Record on Film" for the band Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks in 1968 for a song titled "Jukie's Ball". I encouraged the students to explore their imaginations with a diverse range of techniques and drawing styles. The finished drawings were then captured using istopmotion software, and reintegrated with the original audio from the music video. The edit and titles were by me and student David Guerrieri.
