A nod here to the English landscape tradition with some sedimentary topographic yodeling! An early use for yodeling (Swiss style) was as a form of acoustic sonar to help gauge the distance between mountain peaks and here sound and continually shifting contours move together and against each other.

This is an early example of my ongoing experiments with linking sound and image manipulation directly together. In this case a simple square is stretched, squashed and generally digitally contorted by a set of quasi random midi signals that also produce the music on the soundtrack.

Jiggery Pokery

I found an image of two highland dancers on the web and using some max/msp/jitter jiggery-pokery twisted and bent the image to match the rising and falling of a jig creating an illusion of movement and dance. its a "see through" illusion you can see the trick and the illusion simultaneously.
